How do I even begin to describe the magic of this wedding? I’m not sure words can convey my deepest gratitude for being able to share such a day with a very special friend of mine, who saw value in my work and booked me without hesitation. Sitting in front of the images from Shaun&Jax’s wedding day, fills me with love and pride. Not many feelings come close to the one I get, being in the room as a bride steps into her wedding dress. But watching my friend turn into the most elegant, beaming bride as she walked towards a man I’m convinced will fill her life with fairytale moments, now that…I can’t even begin to explain!
This weekend wedding was full of firsts for me: a bridal boudoir {as a special gift for her hubby, Jax booked me for this in her bridal lingerie. So beautiful!}, a first look {nothing beats that first heart-beat of emotion.Private. Quiet. Perfect!}, a morning ceremony {different and so much fun!}, and a truly generous gift from my couple after their experience with me {so unexpected and thoughtful!}.
The weekend started for me with a flight to Durban early on Friday morning. While I was in the air, car-loads of gorgeous details were on the road towards Zinkwazi, a beautiful coastal town in KZN. I was collected by a very excited groom, who on the drive to the venue, told me all about the lead up to the wedding and how he couldn’t wait to call Jax his wife! With a cast of very hard working sisters and the mother of the bride transforming the Ocean Reef Hotel with details and dozens and dozens of flowers, the bride and I did her boudoir shoot, followed by an afternoon of dreamy detail shooting. Our 3am wake-up call then kicked the wedding into motion and the bride and groom began their day by joining the sunrise on the beach for their first look and couple shoot before their morning wedding ceremony.
