Vanessa & Justin’s wedding at the Royal Ambassador in Caledon not only wrapped up my 2017 wedding season but reminded me totally and completely why I do what I do. Spending this day with them and their families (as well as some of my favourite industry besties) as they celebrated the start of their forever be something I look back on and take forward with me.
A (rather long) scroll through this two-part blog post will show you just a tiny glimpse into the immense joy, genuine fun and long-time love these two share (especially for their fur baby Bauer!) Also, fair warning: when you get to the father-daughter first look (& hug at the end of the aisle) you may need to swipe away the happy tears!
I love learning more about my couples during the speeches at the ceremony and a theme that ran throughout for Vanessa & Justin was that of “focus, achievement and success,” not only on and off various sports fields and golf courses and throughout their respective careers and but also together as a couple over the years. And that’s just what I loved watching most during their engagement session and in the quieter moments of their day; their focus on each other. These two are so connected in their vision, they celebrate one another whole-heartedly (even when it involves a little bit of teasing here or there) and hand-in-hand, they brought together families across country and decades-long friendships to pulled off one hugely successful day (along with the lovely Danielle from Blooms and Bowties).
Huge thanks to Amanda Zack who had the ladies styled beautifully (and SO nice and on time!), Pocket of Posies for the gorgeous blooms for the day and Laurel Bloom Lettering for the gorgeous signage. Vanessa chose her flawless Vera Wang and Bill Levkoff dressed her bridal squad while the guys suited up in Ensemble Style. One of my favourite shout-outs of the night went to Vanessa & Justin’s young cousin, Lauren Dilworth who made their cake (seriously you guys, she is going places!) And as testament to these two and their hearts, they supported Christina Tortina Bakery with their cupcakes and in lieu of favours, donated to a Child’s sports charity before dancing the night away to the AWESOME sounds of Matt Cully.
Mr & Mrs McCrae, I wish you a lifetime longer filled with fur-baby cuddles and days out on the greens (Justin, I hope you’re allowed to win sometimes!) Thank you for sharing your day, your story and your inspirational love and respect for one another with me (and my right-hand gal Deanne).
I spy my lovely business bestie Jenn Kavanagh who glammed it up for the day to stand at Vanessa’s side like she has been doing since grade school!! I LOVED loved loved Vanessa’s bridesmaids gifts of their school co-ordinates. I like to challenge myself with doing something different during the day if I get the time and space and Vanessa’s portrait time delivered! It’s different and darker and I kinda really love it!!You guys! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to look at images of John on this day without crying. He was just the sweetest Father of the Bride!!
This look of pride on Justin’s face will forever give me heart eyes.Oh Bauer. What a furry hunk of handsome! Thank you for “playing ball” little buddy. Family portraits don’t often make the blog posts but this light & this lovely lot needed to break that mold. This!!! Fall bouquet love. Complete and utter love!Oh John! I’m not crying. I can totally see what I’m typing…Cheers! (to a two-part wedding blog post..come on over to this link for more!)
